IMMORTAL DAY CELEBRATES SECOND YEAR!
Immortal Day's second anniversary was on April 16th, but the celebrations got started early this year. On the 14th the first round of celebrations began with a special Paper Throwing Stars Species War! One of the traditional gifts for a second anniversary is paper and players had to find paper and then fold it into a throwing star to then be dipped in Belladonna provided in a cauldron on the Explore page. Once they got that done they were free to throw their stars at Immortals of other species and score points for their team!
Amongst all the furious star throwing one species emerged victorious. The Hunters won with 6,596 points! Hooray for them!! Even tho the top two scorers were Lycan, the Hunters pulled it together as a team and claimed the victory!

The Battle Royale Tournament was so well recieved last year that we brought it back again for the second year celebration. In the same vein as last year it was so popular that the primary entry tournaments filled up so fast that more needed to be added...twice! Added to the fun was a small treasure hunt where players had to find five celebration supplies around the game and once they did they received a Year 2 Player Achievement Award! The opportunity to earn this achievement was offered both on the 14th and 16th, so players had two chances to get their hands on this coveted award!
Violets Varieties was predictably open with a bunch of second anniversary goodies. You can check those out in the Collectible Corner section of this issue. There were also 10 bonus Prowls given to every player who logged in on the 14th and 16th with some extra surpises thrown into the Prowling mix! Of course the anniversary would not have been complete without a specialty Donator Pack with the Golden 2 icon and the special 2nd Anniversary Plaque along with other goodies!
The Immortal Day Admin would also like to take another opportunity to say thank you to the players not only for celebrating the Second Anniversary with us, but also for spending your time with us day in and out and keeping the game alive and thriving. There would be no Day community and no anniversary celebrations without you! Thank you and we look forward to celebrating year three together next year!

NIGHT CELEBRATES EARTH DAY IN APRIL!
For the first time the Immortal Night community celebrated Earth Day on April 22nd. The Earth is important to Immortals too, after all we need somewhere to be our Immortal selves. Kinda hard to do without an Earth to live on. So we used our imaginations and fit this celebration into our lives and did it Immortal style.
First their was an Earth Day Donator pack where players got to choose a section of the globe that represented where they were from, should they choose as their icon. Very cool! Also in that pack were the totally awesome Determination Fermentations, to represent our determination in saving the Earth! There was also a super cool Earth Charm Collectible Item!
As pillars of the communitiy, we Immortals were commited to keeping our lands clean and tidy and so we became Trash Collectors for the day. Whenever an Immortal came across a piece of trash they had the option to pick it up and if they did so, it went to their total Trash Collected score. The top ten trash collectors won prizes. Those top ten were:

Trash wasn't the only thing Immortals were able to collect on the 22nd! We held a Mining Contest where players had to mine the Blue-Green gem Chrysocolla! This mighty gem has been known throughout the world for thousands of years as a stone of calming reconciliation and reassurance, the perfect gem to celebrate Earth day and symbolize and Earth that will be here for Immortals to enjoy for another millenia! The top ten Chrysocolla miners also won prizes, they were:

KING OF THE LADDER COMPETITIONS!
Sign ups for The King of the Ladder Competition was announced on June 8th with the competition itself starting on the 10th. This week long event had Immortals trying to climb the ladder by attacking and winning against the opponent one run ahead of them on the ladder. Early sign ups got placed on the ladder semi randomly, with a bit of care taken that the strongest players weren't at the top and the weakest at the bottom. If a player signed up after the competition started then they were placed at the very bottom of the ladder. Tho everyone was on the same ladder for admins purposes they were split into two groups of early and late sign ups because Prizes were awarded to the players based on how many rungs they were able to climb on the ladder!
This was the second time this competition had been offered in the Night community, but it was a first for the Day Immortals. Both sets of Immortals did very well and the event was well received, assuring that this is something we will see come up again. Learning from the past ladder experience, this time Immortals were able to skip unbeatable opponents up to four times if they could be the very next opponent on the ladder above them. This created a way to bypass the stalemate lock that we encountered last time of people unable to move up the ladder for days. We learned even more this time and be assured when this event surfaces again there will be even more changes that help the dynamic of the ladder.
The prize winners are too plentiful to list here in the newsletter since everyone who moved five or more rungs on the ladder received a prize. As was mentioned earlier, for the purposes of the prizes the participants were divided into the early and late sign up catergories and prizes were based on that distinction along with how many rungs they climbed. However, everyone got one of these super cool participation patches even if they only managed to make it up one rung!

SPECIALTY ICONS!
With the holidays and special events come Specialty Icons! These icons are a great way to show your spirit for the holiday or event and support the game while doing so. The Special Icon History is available to those with Character Bios, that means you can always have an account of those things you have participated in.
Q2 had four events that offered specialty icons this year, but five packs were offered. The first was the second Anniversary celebration on Immortal Day! The Golden 2 was the Icon, but the pack had more than that! Gold, IQ and Blood of the Ancients were all doubled in the pack along with the Second Year Plaque collectible item! For an even celebration in April, since Day was busy with the Anniversary, Immortals on Night celebrated Earth Day with their choice of three Globe icons to pick as their preference. This offereing was a unique opportunity to pay homage to the part of the world you call home while showing your support of our Earth! The pack also sported a very cool collectible Earth Charm and those coveted Determination Fermentations to show our determination in making sure the Earth is here for generations to come!
Violets Birthday celebration in May brought a pack with a super cool Purple Diamond Icon, standard goodies along with 24 slices of Birthday Cake that you can't get anywhere else and 5 Purple Power Bombs that have the ability to poof the recipient right out of their city and into the city of the bomber! So incredibly cool! June 20th brought us the Strawberry Moon Pack with a Strawberry Cupcake Icon to help us celebrate this once a year moon! This pack was chock full of collectibles topping out at 72 of them! It contained 24 Bottles of Strawberry Mead, 24 Strawberry Shortcake Trifles and 24 Strawberry Roses!
The fifth pack offered during Q2 didn't have an icon, it was the Get Swimsuit Ready pack! This training pack had 10 Determination Fermentations...you know those the instant 500% Will Boosters that we all covet, and 10 Boosted Blood of the Ancients! The Boosted BOA are the ones that make training 8 times more effective than normal. Oh yeah, those! Training with these two fantastic items will get Immortals out of their winter weight and into swim suit shape in no time! It is also worth mentioning that there was a sale on some donator items during this quarter. During the King of the Ladder competition, Admin hosted a sale on Blood of the Ancients that you could get at a reduced price and a buy one/gift one sale on Prowl/Tarot Squires! This sale was a way to thank Immortals for their patience during the battle against the malicious attacks that the Immortal community endured to our server during May and early June.

VIOLETS BIRTHDAY WAS A PURPLE FEST!
It has become a tradition to celebrate Violets birthday somewhere in the latter half of May. And if you're celebrating Violets birthday then you best get ready for a lotta purple! This year was no different and the purple awesomeness abounded!
This years Birthday Donator Pack had a super cool Purple Diamond Icon and a Smokin Purple Power Bomb! This unique bomb has the ability to blast someone from any city in the game straight to the location you are in! Assignement in another city? No problem purple bomb them! Someone running to avoid your pummel punishment? No biggie, purple bomb em! Yeah, it's a pretty awesome bomb!
Even the Ancients got in on the purple fun and rained down a bunch of Purple Diamonds over the Immortal community in honor of Violet's birthday and, of course, she wanted them all! So the Purple Diamond Prezzie Swap was born! For every FIVE Purple Diamonds Immortals found and brought to the Exchange Table on the EXPLORE PAGE, they received a present of their choosing! Pretty awesome right? The gifts have all different stuff in them, there was a slight snafu with the Purple Macaroons, but Nikita fixed that up and the more purple diamonds people found the more they had their chance to get their hands on some really great prizes...up to 10...what am I made of macaroons? It's always fun to receive, but it's totally fun to give on your birthday and it felt like it was everyones birthday with this prezzie swap event!
The Over/Under the Table drinking game made an appearance again. Even tho it isn't purple its a helluva lotta fun and Violet had lots of requests for it to make a return throughout the year. I may have lost more games than I won, but I had a super good time playing the game and found that Immortals are really good at picking their shots! A number of times the board had to reset in order for the game to be finished! I don't know if we're just a very intuitive lot or just seasoned drinkers! lol Whatever the case may be, this is a game very much fit for a birthday celebration!
Violet's birthday would not be complete without a Violets Varieties birthday edition shop! It was open in London for the duration of the celebration and its contents are noted in the collectible corner section of this newsletter if you're interested. Of course you would be, because Purple is the best and collectible items are the second best and you put them together and you have an explosion of awesome stupefaction!

Recent Offerings from Violets Varieties.
Violets Varieties was open twice this quarter. Once for Violets Birthday on both games and once for the Second Anniversary celebration on Immortal Day! There were only two shops to choose from for this issue of the newsletter, but I think I would have chosen these two to feature anyway. Birthdays and anniversaries are always important to note in life and ingame its no different. These are milestones that need to be highlighted and also they tend to produce some really cool collectibles while they're at it!
With most of the Violets Varieties shops, there is usually a theme featured and you know for Violets birthday it was all about the purple! The purple perfection was plentiful with this shop, hosting an array of all new items from Nourishments to armors! You could find purple ways to cool off in this unseasonable heat with the Purple Ice cream Pops and Purple People Eater Cocktail! Satisfy a sweet tooth with Purple Cotton Candy, the Naked Purple Layer Cake, Purple Crinkle Cookies and the indulgent Violet Rose Teacup Cupcake! You could even be healthy with the Purple Mini Muffins, a great way to stay svelte in order to fit in your absolutely fabulous Purple Coat collectible Armor! Look extra awesome if you happen to be carrying the Purple Orchid Bouquet!
The Second Anniversary shop on Day had some oldies but goodies mixed in with some newcomer treats! Anniversary collectible items are great for celebrating all types of occasions, so its nice to have a few staples in your cabinet that you can pull out any time. Offering those staples in the shops occasionally gives new comers to our community a chance to get their hands on them and use them as they will! We saw the Blood Bubbly, Raw Meat Cubes and Red Blood Velvet Anniversary cake make reappearances along with some new themed items for the celebrations. Traditional gifts for the second anniversary are Paper and Cotton, so you can see that theme represented in the new offerings of Cotton Candy Earrings as a collectible Armor, Cotton Candy itself is always a welcome treat, Cotton Swabs that are good for a variety of uses...use your imagination, Toasted Marshmellows are pretty tough to beat for a sweet and simple delight and add Meringues to that note for that matter. Finish it all off with a Paper Bouquet for your sweetie and your Second Anniversary celebration is complete!

JUNES FULL MOON WAS STRAWBERRY!
June 20th brought forth the Months Full moon known as the Strawberry Moon! It is also known as the Rose Moon in places where strawberries aren't native and further back was also called the Honeymoon. The reason for this was that June was the most popular month to get married in and people would give the newlyweds enough mead to last them a month as a gift. Well mead is made from honey hence, Honeymoon! Interesting stuff right? Well yeah cause it presents us with some pretty sweet collectible items!
We love celebrating the moon here in the Immortal communities as it holds so much sway for us and it's fun to keep finding more things to celebrate about that rock in the sky that delights us so much. We've celebrated Super Moons and Blue Moons and even New Moon from the Twilight series. Clearly Immortals have moon fever.
In honor of the Strawberry/Rose/Honey Moon of June a Specialty Donator Pack was offered with a Strawberry Cupcake icon and a whopping 72 very cool collectibles that could only be gotten from this pack! 24 Bottles of Strawberry Mead, 24 Strawberry Shortcake Trifles and 24 Strawberry Roses were offered for your drinking, eating, gifting and cabinet collecting pleasure! We hope you liked this offering and look forward to learning more about the moon in our celebrations for years to come!

House Warrables Required!
This is just a brief reminder that on both Immortal Night and Immortal Day there is a House Minimum Warrable Requirement. This requirement is to bet met at all times. Keeping fewer that the minimum requirement for warrable in your House at any given time to avoid warring is counter to fair game play and you may find yourself without a House if you are using this as a commonplace practice.
On Immortal Day, Established Houses are required to have FIVE (5) Warrable members at all times. This means players who are level 6 or higher or 31 days old or older. Training positions DO NOT count towards your warrable number.
On Immortal Night, Established Houses are required to have SIX (6) Warrable Members at all times. This means players who are level 15 or higher. This requirement has been in place since January 27, 2010. It is certainly not knew and is disheartening to see players who have been in Houses for ages letting this requirement slip.
Randomly throughtout the month a script runs and pulls for Admin the names of the Houses and their leaders that are out of compliance with this rule on both games. The Leaders are notified that they are out of compliance and have a few days to get back in to compliance or face deletion of their House. The majority of Houses and Leaders do their best to make sure they are always in compliance and we applaud you for that. For the rest, if this seems to be a reoccuring issue for you then further action may be taken. The Immortal Games are warring games and it is not fair to the rest of the community for certain Houses to be skirting this requirement in an attempt to manipulate wars.
Thank you all for your understanding and compliance with the House Minimum Warrable rule. We are always looking to enhance and invigorate the warring system and it makes it challenging to do that when the baselines cannot even be maintained. Thank you again, good luck and happy warring!

Malicious Attacks Blocked!
Throughout May and the beginning of June both Immortal Night and Immortal Day was on the receiving end of a series of malicious denial of servie attacks. It happened on and off for an approximate six week period making the game inaccessible to its users. Sometimes these outtages were only a few minutes, but some lasted for several hours.
It was determined that these attacks origniated oversees and was not the works of a disgruntled Immortal player, however speculation on that thrived in the Pow-wow forum on Night. Players needed a place to vent and theorize on what was happening and that seemed to relieve some of the tension and frustration every one was experiencing as using prolific adjectives towards an invisible party is wont to do.
Admin worked tirelessly to stem the attacks for about a month to little avail, but finally had a breakthrough in the final few days in mail. Nikita was furiously making security changes and had to take some game features offline for a while, like chat while she investigated and shored up the servers security.
In the end the Admin won out, with Nikita detecting the probable cause for the breach and making the necessary adjustments. The ability to change pictures was disabled and our security holes plugged up protecting the sites from further attacks. The adjustments seemed to work and Admin discussed how to get picture changing back online as soon as possible for the creative minds of the Immortal communities. About a week later that feature was back up and running smoothly.
Thank you all for your patience while Admin worked this out. Nikita in particular spent a lot of nights up into the wee hours of the morning trying to combat these malicious attacks. We know it can be super frustrating when we come up against something like this, but we ask that you please remember we are only two Admins running a small independent game. We work as hard as we can to make sure everything runs smoothly all the time and work to take care of any issues that may arise with haste. We love these games too and hope to keep them running and running well for many years to come!!
